Exhaust

The exhaust was time consuming but a necessary evil. There's really nothing special about this. I just want to point out the way I went about it.I ended up keeping two things from the van. I kept the downpipe off the turbo and the muffler. The down pipe I had to massage a little and make some relief cut to get it to bend correctly  and then re-weld to end up clearing the jeep's firewall. This depended directly on where I placed the motor. No real how-to here other than, you gotta make it fit.The muffler I reused and it fit nicely beside the trans and above the skid plate.  After the muffler I made a reducer and reduced the exhaust down to 2.5". I called Banks and order the tail pipe piece for the Jeep that goes over the rear axle and out the back and I connected it all up. Overall I like the setup I may do away with the muffler soon. But for now It's legal and runs nice.Lesson learned

  • Test fit and test fit some more.
  • If you can buy it, you should ... I personally don't like exhaust work.
  • Most exhaust shops won't want to mess with it because of it not having a catalytic converter.
