Leadership details

  • Leads the “end-to-end” product design and UX process for the Digital Retailing, Classified Marketplace, and My Account products for an online audience with 3.8 million monthly unique visitors.

  • Works closely with leadership across the business and digital products team, to create best-in-class experiences, design consistency, and achieve business goals.

  • Meets with key leaders and stakeholders to develop UX strategy, and understand business goals, target audience, consumer journeys, and other factors that will impact that user experience.

  • Very comfortable presenting and holding discussions with executive and director-level leadership.

  • Has experience contributing to high-level strategic decisions with the product, senior leadership, and executive teams.

  • Works directly with product managers and engineers to oversee the user experience of a product from conception until launch.

  • Utilizes UX principles, and qualitative/quantitative data to inform designs and solutions.

  • Responsible for interviewing, onboarding, and training new team members to develop best practices, and helping them establish good habits and organizational strength.

  • Motivates, and inspires UX team members/colleagues, ensuring all team members have what they need and efficiently deliver a high-quality, thoughtful product. Manages team communication, resourcing, and software/asset licensing.

  • Consults with and ensures designers are paired with projects that play to their strengths and allow for growth.

  • Mentors junior designers toward top performance and helps them track toward long-term career goals while avoiding pitfalls and roadblocks.

  • Leads design critiques that encourage diversity of ideas, and foster a healthy collaborative team culture.

  • Organize team meetings and design reviews to create a sense of team in a remote-first environment.

  • Assists and coaches a distributed team of designers to utilize a modern design system and design thinking.

  • Practices an inspiring, inclusive, and collaborative design leadership style based on simplicity, a user-first approach, and established design principles.

  • Conducts educational design presentations for large audiences.

  • Stays up-to-date on consumer and macro trends, competitors, and adjacent user experiences.

  • Leads the exploration of new, innovative design solutions and patterns.
