MPG on average

Here are the details on my MPG. A lot of folks ask about this and I can give a pretty solid average at this point. I'll continue to post more results. The method I use to calculate it is pretty crude but fairly accurate I believe.

  1. I top of the tank which is around 15 gallons
  2. Zero out the odometer trip meter
  3. The drive it down to about 1/4 tank
  4. Check the odometer trip meter
  5. Fill it all the way back up
  6. Divide miles  by gallons filled

The first time I did this my average was about 21.3 MPGSecond time I did this my average was about 22.4 MPGJune 20, 2011Most recently I calculated it at  23.8 MPG.Distance driven: 273.5Gallons filled: 11.5I plan on keeping a more detailed record from now on. I fill up about every 2-3 weeks, stay tuned. I've noticed that it does about the same highway as city driving I don't see a significant difference. I'll try and note that as well moving forward.I'd say 22-24 MPG is great for a Jeep with 35's and no mods to the 4BT to improve anything. I'm hoping it goes up with an intercooler and some tuning.
